Artist Gillian Taylor asked me a few months ago to compose a peice for horn, for her installation “The Last Post” at Thelma Hubert Gallery, Honiton, Devon. I made a sound-scape featuring recorded voices reading the letters sent to her from Denmark about the closing of the postal service. I recorded Beth Osmet on horn, and also added electronics and piano to add a sense of memory and fragmentation, as Gillian wanted to reference the postal horn symbol found on Danish post boxes.
